Rochdale Council is recruiting a Residential Child Care Worker to support children and young people with social and emotional needs, difficulties and disabilities in Rochdale. The role is full-time, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins, with a salary of £32,061 to £35,412 per year plus up to £3,000 extra through sleep-ins and bank holiday payments.
We expect understanding of SEND/disability, strong communication and experience in care.

We have expanded our Children's Residential Service and opened 4 new homes, in addition to our 3 established homes. We have several openings in both our homes for children and young people with Social and Emotional Needs and Difficulties and children and young people with Disabilities.

The position involves working shifts, including working weekends, Bank Holiday's and at times of Religious Festivals. There is the expectation that you will also take part in the children and young people's holidays, which could involve being away from home for up to a week. Sleep-in duties are also a part of the position. Sleep-in duties are not included in your working hours, as you will receive an additional payment for these.
There are real opportunities for your personal and professional development and our training offer in Rochdale is second to none, including you completing the Therapeutic Parenting with PACE training programme, which is the foundation of our 'Model of Care'.
You must be over 21 years of age and have at least 1 years' experience working with Children and Young People. It is preferable that you are qualified to NVQ/Diploma Level 3/4 Working with Children and Young People or equivalent, but don't worry if you don't, as we will support you to obtain the Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner (Residential Care) qualification as part of your ongoing training and development.
