Job summary

Care in Mind seeks a Healthcare Support Worker in Leeds, responsible for supporting young people with mental health needs in a residential setting. A full manual UK driving licence is required to drive the service car.

You will assist with education, daily living tasks and medication administration, while keeping online records up to date and maintaining a safe, supportive home environment.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and Bank Holidays
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence – non-automatic
• Ability to attend training on weekdays
• Good written skills and ability to write basic reports and record information accurately
• Basic IT skills, using an online care system and writing emails
• Good verbal communication and listening abilities
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and remain calm in emergencies
• NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent
• Experience with young people with mental health needs is desirable

Responsibilities

• Promote independence through support with education, household tasks and life skills
• Update online care records and administer medications as required
• Maintain a clean, homely environment in the home
• Support meal planning and documentation for residents with eating disorders
• Manage incidents of self-harm and other risk behaviours
• Assist in transition to independence, including education routes and transport
