Assistant Care Manager

40 hours per week rotating (Apply online only) every other weekend

Overview

Our client is a leading Residential Care Company specialising in Elderly and Dementia Care. As the company continues to grow, this is a fantastic time to join as a Care Manager and develop your career. The role involves supporting the Manager in the day-to-day management of the home and deputising in their absence. The primary responsibility is to oversee the standard of care within the home and lead the team on the floor. The Care Manager will use the Person-Centred Software and Radar systems to meet expectations.

The Role

1. Assist the manager in running the home efficiently and compassionately.
2. Be responsible for care standards in the home.
3. Report directly to the Home Manager or their representative, adhering to employment terms.
4. Help maintain appropriate staffing levels and staff mix.
5. Keep all required records according to Local Authority, Health Authority, and government legislation.
6. Support the Home Manager to maintain high occupancy levels.
7. Be aware of fire prevention procedures, equipment, and staff training on fire safety and emergency evacuation.
8. Undertake relevant training and personal development to stay informed on legislation.
9. Participate in pre-admission assessments of prospective residents.
10. Attend call-outs as necessary to ensure the safety of the home as part of out-of-hours support.
11. Assess the needs of new and prospective residents and ensure these can be met within the home.
12. Implement and monitor Care Plan systems.
13. Maintain confidentiality of all information.
14. Liaise with GPs, nurses, and other professionals.
15. Provide a safe and secure environment.
16. Ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available.
17. Meet with residents regularly.
18. Communicate frequently with care staff about care issues.
19. Support residents' families and friends when appropriate.
20. Assist in monitoring dependency levels.
21. Comply with CQC requirements regarding complaints.
