Job summary

Jasmine Healthcare is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant for night shifts at South Moor Lodge Care Home in Walkeringham. You will lead night shifts, support residents with daily living, and ensure accurate medication rounds and documentation.

The role requires a dementia- and person-centred approach, with leadership and strong communication skills. A competitive benefits package and sign-on bonus are included.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Health & Social Care at NVQ/Diploma Level 3 or nursing.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Care Assistant in residential or nursing home settings.
• Awareness of Person-Centred Care Planning.
• Understanding safeguarding of vulnerable adults and reporting procedures.
• Reside within 30 minutes of the Home.
• Ability to work under pressure with leadership and team skills.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest levels of daily living support to residents.
• Promote independence with dignity, choice and respect while supporting wellbeing.
• Lead shifts to maintain high standards and support other team members.
• Complete daily medication rounds and document accurately for audits.
• Promote best practice and conduct 1:1s; address complaints as directed.

Job Title: Senior Care Assistant - Nights

Hours: Full Time Permanent Contract (7pm-7am x3 shifts 1 week, x4 shifts the next week, to include alternate weekends)

South Moor Lodge is located in the idyllic village of Walkeringham (5 miles to the West of Gainsborough).The home is centred around a nineteenth century barn, which has been selectively extended in keeping with its character.This provides the homeliness that Jasmine seeks for its homes, whilst still providing modern living accommodation.The home sits within two acres of landscaped grounds, and provides personal and dementia care for 41 residents.

Role Responsibilities as a Senior Care Assistant

• Providing the highest possible levels of care in supporting and assisting our residents in all aspects of daily living.
• Responsibility for promoting our resident’s independence with a focus on choice, dignity and respect, alongside promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing and to give input during shift handovers.
• Leading your shift to ensure high standards are maintained, and other members of the team feel supported.
• Completing the daily medication rounds and document consistently without errors or any issues being picked up on the medication audits, ensuring the daily charts are completed to a high standard by all team members on all shifts you’ll be responsible for leading.
• Promoting good practice in all aspects of care, and challenge poor practise from other team member. ensure one to ones for all care and support team members are done every two months and investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.

Role Requirements as a Senior Care Assistant

• Relevant Professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ/Diploma minimum level 3 in Health and Social Care).
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a Care Assistant in residential / nursing home setting.
• Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
• Understanding of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of the signs of abuse and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.
• Reside within 30 minutes of the Home.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Leadership and people skills.
• A caring and nurturing attitude.
• Positive and enthusiastic outlook.
• Written and oral communication skills.
