Job summary

South Moor Lodge Care Home, Walkeringham, UK, is hiring a Senior Care Assistant for days and nights to join Jasmine Healthcare's mission-led team. The role offers part-time and full-time contracts, 33 hours per week (days) or 33/44 hours per week (nights) with a £16 per hour base pay, incentives, and a £750 sign-on bonus after 3 months.

You will lead shifts, oversee medication rounds, and promote person-centred care, dignity, and resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Requires professional qualification in health and social care at level 3 or higher.
• Minimum two years' experience as a care assistant in residential/nursing home.
• Ability to lead shifts and promote person-centred care.
• Reside within 30 minutes of the Home.
• Good communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of care and daily living support for residents.
• Promote independence with dignity and wellbeing and support during handovers.
• Lead shifts to maintain high standards and support other team members.
• Complete daily medication rounds and ensure accurate documentation and audits.
• Promote best practices and complete two-monthly one-to-ones and investigations as directed.

Salary: £16ph plus incentives

Hours: Part Time Permanent Contract (33 hours pw) - Days - 7am-7pm x 3 shifts per week to include alternative weekends

Full Time Permanent Contract (33/44 hours pw)- Nights - 7pm-7am x3 shifts 1 week, x4 shifts the next week, to include alternate weekends

About South Moor Lodge

South Moor Lodge is located in the idyllic village of Walkeringham (5 miles to the West of Gainsborough). The home is centred around a nineteenth century barn, which has been selectively extended in keeping with its character. This provides the homeliness that Jasmine seeks for its homes, whilst still providing modern living accommodation. The home sits within two acres of landscaped grounds, and provides personal and dementia care for 41 residents.

Role Responsibilities as a Senior Care Assistant

• Providing the highest possible levels of care in supporting and assisting our residents in all aspects of daily living.
• Responsibility for promoting our resident's independence with a focus on choice, dignity and respect, alongside promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing and to give input during shift handovers.
• Leading your shift to ensure high standards are maintained, and other members of the team feel supported.
• Completing the daily medication rounds and document consistently without errors or any issues being picked up on the medication audits, ensuring the daily charts are completed to a high standard by all team members on all shifts you'll be responsible for leading.
• Promoting good practice in all aspects of care, and challenge poor practise from other team member. ensure one to ones for all care and support team members are done every two months and investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.

Role Requirements as a Senior Care Assistant

• Relevant Professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ/Diploma minimum level 3 in Health and Social Care).
• Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in residential / nursing home setting.
• Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
• Understanding of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of the signs of abuse and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.
• Reside within 30 minutes of the Home.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Leadership and people skills.
• A caring and nurturing attitude.
• Positive and enthusiastic outlook.
• Time management skills.
• Written and oral communication skills.
