The role acts as the primary contact between residents, contractors and the project team, ensuring residents are informed and supported throughout the works.

The position is temporary until March 2027, with a start imminent, working on-site across multiple locations.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Resident Liaison Officer or similar engagement role.
  • Experience in social housing, refurbishment, retrofit, or property services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage residents confidently.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for residents during retrofit works.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, contractors and internal teams.
  • Provide clear updates on upcoming works, timescales and disruption.
  • Arrange and attend resident meetings, visits and appointments.
  • Explain works and answer resident queries or concerns.
  • Identify and support vulnerable residents during the programme.
  • Manage complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Liaise with site teams and contractors to keep residents informed.
  • Carry out regular resident visits and maintain records.
  • Distribute project information and notices to residents.
  • Monitor resident satisfaction and escalate issues when needed.
  • Support smooth delivery of retrofit from a resident perspective.

Resident Liaison Officer (RLO)

Location: Yorkshire - Leeds, Chesterfield & Hull
Contract: Temporary - until March 2027
Start: Imminent
Rate: 21.41 per hour Umbrella

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) to support a major retrofit scheme across Yorkshire.

Working across Leeds, Chesterfield and Hull, you will act as the key point of contact between residents, contractors and the project team, ensuring residents are kept fully informed and supported throughout the works.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy retrofit programme, with the contract running through to March 2027.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for residents throughout the retrofit works.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with residents, contractors and internal teams.
  • Provide clear and regular communication regarding upcoming works, timescales and disruption.
  • Arrange and attend resident meetings, visits and appointments.
  • Explain the works being carried out and answer resident queries or concerns.
  • Identify and support vulnerable residents throughout the programme.
  • Manage complaints and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
  • Liaise closely with site teams and contractors to ensure residents are kept up to date.
  • Carry out regular resident visits and maintain accurate records.
  • Distribute relevant project information, notices and communications.
  • Monitor resident satisfaction and escape any issues where required.
  • Support the smooth delivery of the retrofit programme from a resident perspective.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Resident Liaison Officer, Resident Engagement Officer or similar.
  • Experience within social housing, refurbishment, retrofit, construction or property services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The confidence to engage with residents face-to-face and handle difficult conversations.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable residents would be advantageous.
  • A proactive and approachable attitude.
  • The ability to travel across Leeds, Chesterfield and Hull as required.
