Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking a Housing Officer to join our Resident Experience team in Sittingbourne. You will manage tenancy issues, provide practical housing advice, and support residents to sustain successful tenancies within safe, well-maintained communities.

Based at our Sittingbourne office, the role is full-time (35 hours per week). You will spend two days a week in the office and the rest of the time working remotely with travel across Kent to support residents and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing environment with tenancy issues and enforcement processes.
• Strong communication skills across multiple channels.
• Ability to work in a team and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-void inspections and property viewings to minimise void turnaround times.
• Manage tenancy enforcement processes including notices and court attendance.
• Lead neighbourhood inspections to improve estate standards and resident wellbeing.
• Support income recovery by collaborating with the Income Team on rent collection.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and facilitate statutory inspections.
