Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily meals according to menus and residents' dietary requirements.
• Ensure meals are cooked and presented to a high standard, with taste, appearance and nutrition in mind.
• Adapt recipes for residents with dietary needs (e.g., diabetic, gluten-free).
• Monitor portion control to ensure appropriate serving sizes.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef/Manager to develop menus with seasonal ingredients and resident feedback.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Manage stock levels and order supplies; control food costs and waste.
• Work with care home staff to coordinate meal service times and train kitchen assistants.
• Engage with residents to understand preferences and explain ingredients when needed.
