Job summary

Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust is seeking a proactive Resident Involvement Officer to join the Resident Experience team. The role focuses on shaping engagement with residents, delivering engagement activities, and ensuring residents’ voices influence services.

The role requires visiting housing sites across JRHT’s area and developing a comprehensive engagement strategy, with strong emphasis on reporting and communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of resident engagement experience within housing or a similar sector.
• Experience of supporting residents to scrutinise and improve services.
• Experience of establishing, developing and facilitating resident groups and consultation activities.
• Experience of creating effective communication and feedback mechanisms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
• Ability to gather, analyse and present data and produce clear reports.
• Detailed understanding of the regulatory framework.

Responsibilities

• Visit housing sites and neighbourhoods across JRHT's area.
• Develop and implement the Resident Engagement Strategy and campaigns.
• Facilitate resident groups, focus groups, scrutiny panels and community events.
• Monitor engagement performance and analyse feedback.
• Communicate how residents’ contributions influence services via a clear ‘you said, we did’ approach.
