Job summary

The Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT) is seeking a Resident Involvement Officer to join our Resident Experience team in York. You will shape how we engage with residents, ensuring their voices influence services and driving meaningful improvement across JRHT.

You will develop and deliver engagement activities, support resident groups, and implement our Resident Engagement Strategy, with regular feedback through a you said, we did approach.

Qualifications

• A proven track record of resident engagement experience within housing or a similar sector.
• Experience of supporting residents to scrutinise and improve services.
• Experience of establishing, developing and facilitating resident groups and consultation activities.
• Experience of creating effective communication and feedback mechanisms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• The ability to gather, analyse and present data and produce clear reports.
• A detailed understanding of the regulatory framework

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver innovative resident engagement activities, campaigns and consultation opportunities.
• Support and facilitate resident groups, focus groups, scrutiny panels and community events, helping residents to actively contribute to service improvement and decision-making.
• Develop and implement our Resident Engagement Strategy, monitor engagement performance, analyse feedback and ensure residents see how their contributions are making a difference through a you said, we did approach.
• This role requires excellent relationship-building skills, creativity and a genuine commitment to resident empowerment.
• This role will be required to visit housing sites and neighbourhoods across JRHT’s area.
