Job summary

Black & White Engineering, based in London, is seeking a Site/Resident Engineer to be embedded on site for data centre projects, acting as the key electrical representative through construction, installation and commissioning phases.

You will work closely with contractors, clients and project teams on site to ensure highest standards of quality and technical compliance, with a clear pathway to senior roles in a growing organisation.

Qualifications

• Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience as Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, or similar on construction projects.
• Experience within Data Centres, Mission Critical, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Industrial or other high-specification environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services, power distribution, UPS, generators and critical infrastructure systems.
• Experience reviewing installations, monitoring quality, managing technical queries and supporting commissioning activities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent English required; German language skills would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as the resident electrical authority on site, providing technical guidance, reviewing installations, identifying issues early and helping drive successful project outcomes.
• You will be embedded on site, collaborating with contractors, clients and project teams to ensure electrical systems meet the highest standards.
• Support commissioning activities and verify that installed equipment conforms to project specifications and safety requirements.
• Maintain quality control and provide clear technical guidance to stakeholders across multiple developments.

• Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience working as a Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, Site Representative or similar on construction projects.
• Experience within Data Centres, Mission Critical, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Industrial or other high-specification environments.
