Job summary

Kingfisher House Care Home is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan and organise activities for all residents, day and evening, with flexible hours for outings and events.

You will support residents’ social, intellectual and spiritual well-being and help implement individual and group activities in line with the home’s care plan, maintaining confidentiality and high standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Build friendship with residents to help them adjust to life in a care home
• Deliver high levels of personal and psychological care in a professional manner
• Maintain good communication with Manager, Senior Care Assistants, Chef and relatives
• Complete records to a satisfactory standard and agree record-keeping with the manager
• Safeguard residents' and staff rights in line with the home's philosophy of care
• Maintain client, staff and business confidentiality
• Plan daytime and evening activities
• Observe Health and Safety requirements
• Coordinate activities with other services in the facility
• Assess residents' needs and develop activity goals for written care plans
• Encourage resident participation and document outcomes
• Provide back-up support for staff and contribute to daily routines
• Maintain strong communication within staff, colleagues and residents
• Carry out additional duties as required
• Undertake training to enhance contribution to the home
