Job summary

Nightingale Hammerson in London is seeking a dedicated cleaner/household support to assist with daily living activities and to keep all areas clean and safe for residents. You will work as part of a care team on a rota, helping with meals, laundry, and maintaining hygiene standards.

You will interact with residents with empathy, support meaningful activities, and contribute to a clean, welcoming environment that upholds the home’s person-centred philosophy of care.

Qualifications

• Flexible to work on a rota basis.
• Experience with cleaning and housekeeping in care settings.
• Ability to interact with residents respecting their preferences.
• Willingness to support meals and activities.

Responsibilities

• Work flexibly on a rota basis.
• Sweep, buff and wash floors and hard surfaces.
• Wash up dining equipment and utensils.
• Vacuum carpets.
• Deep clean residents’ rooms with infection control.
• Replenish towels and bed linen in residents’ rooms.
• Assist residents at mealtimes.
• Complete weekly water flushing audits and file safety audits.
• Support care team in meaningful engagement and activities.
• Assist in serving tea and refreshments to residents.
• Provide relief staff for one-to-one care.
• Transport residents to activities within Nightingale House.
• Replenish cleaning materials and order stock.
• Interact with residents to accommodate preferences.
• Support person-centred philosophy of care.
• Undertake other duties as required.
