Job summary

Valarian Court Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is recruiting for a Housekeeping Assistant. Based in Didcot, Oxfordshire, the role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment and supporting laundry services.

The position requires attention to detail, reliability and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Alternate weekends are required; DBS paid, pension, and uniform provided.

Responsibilities

• Follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Alternate weekends work pattern as part of the role.

Based in Didcot, Oxfordshire, our newly-built care home offers exceptional standards of Nursing, Residential, Dementia and Respite care for 70-residents.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Full & Part time hours available
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.

The successful candidates will be required to work alternate weekends.
