Job summary

Cardiff Metropolitan University is seeking welcoming and enthusiastic students to join our halls teams as Resident Assistants. RAs live in halls and help create a safe, welcoming and inclusive community for students, supporting their transition to university life and connecting residents with university services.

You will work with the Halls Management Team, Security and support services, attending training and assisting with events, inductions and Open Days.

Qualifications

• Open to current Cardiff Metropolitan University students who live in, or are willing to live in, University halls of residence.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible, approachable and supportive presence within halls, offering guidance, information and signposting students to appropriate University support services.
• Build positive relationships with residents through welfare check-ins, forums and community engagement activities.
• Help create a safe, respectful and inclusive living environment where all students feel welcome and supported.
• Act as a key link between residents and hall staff, gathering feedback and escalating concerns as appropriate.
• Support day-to-day operations of the halls through office duties, responding to general enquiries and assisting students, visitors and parents.
• Assist with events, inductions, Open Days and other activities to build a strong sense of community.
• Attend training sessions and staff development activities.
