This role offers a starting salary within Nacro's pay structure of £28,851, per annum with expected progression to £29,572,per annum within the first year, subject to meeting clear criteria and performance standards, with further pay progression available in the future. About the role:
As a Resettlement & Engagement Coordinator, working from HMP Dovegate you will provide advice, guidance and practical support to people in custody, helping them overcome barriers and prepare for successful reintegration into the community.
Working within a custodial environment, you will provide person-centred support to help individuals improve their financial stability, wellbeing, accommodation, independence and confidence. You will work with people to identify their strengths, understand their needs and develop realistic goals that support positive and sustainable outcomes both before and after release.
This includes supporting individuals with a range of needs, including accommodation, benefits, finance and debt, life skills, independent living, health and wellbeing, motivation for change and the disclosure of convictions. You will deliver a combination of one-to-one support, assessments and group interventions, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
Working collaboratively with prison staff, statutory agencies, community organisations and other partners, you will play an important role in supporting successful resettlement, improving social inclusion and helping people build positive futures within their communities.
About you:
We are looking for someone who has experience of delivering support, coaching, advice or interventions to people with complex needs.
You will ideally have experience of:
Knowledge of welfare benefits, debt management, financial inclusion or related support services would be advantageous. Experience within a custodial, criminal justice or probation environment, as well as knowledge of housing legislation and accommodation pathways, would also be desirable.
A relevant qualification in advice and guidance, criminal justice, social care, housing, financial inclusion or a related discipline would be beneficial.
