Applications are invited for a Research Technician to join Prof Gomez-Nicola’s team (www.dgnlab.co.uk) to study the role of microglial senescence in the pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease. This project, funded by the MRC, involves using human iPSC-derived microglia to explore senescence's functional consequences, in collaboration with academic and industrial partners. Prior experience with iPSC experiments and brain organoid models is highly desirable.
This 7-month position is available on a full-time or part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have laboratory experience in Biomedicine, be enthusiastic, motivated, and capable of contributing to the project and team. The role offers the chance to develop diverse research skills within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment, contributing to significant advances in Dementia research.
The University of Southampton provides an excellent environment for neuroscience research. The research group is part of the Alzheimer’s Research UK South Coast Network and collaborates across biology and medicine disciplines, including clinical and non-clinical laboratories.
