Job Description:

Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Location: Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

We are recruiting an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, carrying out maintenance and commissioning activities within your designated area, including the top of M25, M4, M11, and bottom of M1, A14, M40, A1(M).

Our field teams are critical in delivering our contracts, whether maintaining, installing, cabling, or doing civils works. Help build and keep the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

Responsibilities:

• Attending cable breaks and repairing copper and fibre cables to keep the network operational.
• Completing all commissioning of equipment to standard, on time and within budget.
• Attending to equipment issues within Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets in your area, day or night.
• Performing general maintenance and commissioning of fibre and copper equipment.
• Completing all required documentation promptly.

Candidate Profile:

Previous experience in a similar role, with familiarity in fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments.

Key Requirements:

• Experience with motorway communications or related systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing & testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Availability to work overtime or on call as required.
• Full UK driving license.
