We are seeking an enthusiastic Research Laboratory Technician to join Prof. Christoph Hess's group at the Cambridge Institute for Therapeutic Immunology and Infectious Disease (CITIID). The laboratory investigates the metabolic basis of lymphocyte function and immunometabolic regulation. The successful candidate will support a project on anti-cancer T cell bioengineering, employing molecular biology and immunological techniques to understand T cell mechanisms for targeting cancer. Responsibilities include supporting lab operations and general duties.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in biological sciences and have experience in molecular biology and/or immunology. Tasks include editing T cells ex vivo, cellular assays, isolating primary immune cells, and techniques like Western blotting and ELISA. Troubleshooting, meticulous work, organization, teamwork, and independence are essential. We seek a candidate who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment and collaborates effectively.
This role starts on December 1st, with interviews shortly after the closing date. The position is funded until November 30, 2027. The application deadline is November 17, 2024.
