Job summary

Imperial College London is seeking a Biofoundry Screening Technician for the London site. The role involves contributing to protein production and culture workflows using high-end analytical instruments and automated liquid handling to speed up screening and strain engineering projects.

You will join a highly motivated, internationally collaborative team supported by advanced research platforms, ensuring robust screening pipelines and efficient experimental throughput.

Job description

The research project is funded at the Biofoundry through . The position will be based at the , a cutting-edge Engineering Biology lab on Imperial’s new White City campus with an integrated SynBio stack bringing together in-house DNA synthesis, high-throughput liquid handling, sequencers, high-end plate readers, microscopes, flow cytometers, bioreactors and analytical instruments to speed up strain engineering and screening workflows. The project will interface with several teams in the drug discovery, strain engineering and AMR community at Imperial including the , and international teams at the .

You will work on projects including protein production, bacterial and tissue culture, various screening formats leveraging microscopy, flow cytometry, plate reader, NGS, HPLC and LC-MS instruments and automated liquid handlers for miniaturisation and high throughput.
