Job summary

Imperial College London invites applications for a postdoctoral Research Associate in Functional Genomics to join the Renal Genomics group. The role focuses on iPSC-derived kidney organoids, CRISPR perturbations, and multiomics profiling to understand kidney development and CAKUT.

You will collaborate with bioinformaticians and clinicians, publish advances in high-quality journals, and have opportunities to pursue independent ideas within the lab's core aims at Imperial's Hammersmith campus.

Qualifications

  • PhD (or equivalent) in biology (stem cell/development/genomics/molecular biology).
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
  • Interest in kidney development and disease biology.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and run iPSC-derived kidney and ureteric bud organoid models.
  • Use CRISPR interference to perturb candidate regulatory elements.
  • Profile consequences with single-nucleus multiomics, CUT&RUN and low-input chromosome conformation capture.
  • Collaborate with bioinformaticians and clinicians to test mechanistic hypotheses.
  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
  • Develop independent research ideas within the lab's focus.
