Job summary

The Centre for Developmental Neurobiology (CDN) at King’s College London invites applications for a Research Associate to join the UKRI-funded Functional Genomics of Human Developing Brain cluster. The role focuses on generating brain organoids and assembloids from hiPSCs and hESCs, advancing a cutting-edge organoid platform.

You will perform original research, maintain detailed records, contribute to facility-user training, and work in a dynamic environment with access to advanced facilities

Qualifications

  • PhD in Neuroscience, Developmental Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with in vitro culture of neural cells, especially hiPSCs and hESCs.
  • Experience with molecular biology procedures (e.g. western blot, quantitative PCR, immunofluorescence RNA sequencing and cloning).
  • Experience with confocal microscopy imaging techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently in the design&execution of experiments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a cutting-edge platform for generating brain organoids and assembloids from hiPSCs and hESCs.
  • Undertake original research in the Brain Organoid Platform ensuring high standards and detailed records.
  • Contribute to training of facility users and collaborate within a dynamic research environment.
