Job summary

The University of Sheffield’s MAC and INSIGNEO Institute invite a highly numerical researcher to join the VASCO-CKD project, developing next-generation 1D-0D computational models to link scans with microscopic vessel damage for early disease prediction and digital twin design.

You will expand the openBF solver, integrate renal haemodynamics and autoregulation, and run in silico trials with global partners. A 42-month tenure includes conference travel.

Qualifications

  • Educated to PhD level (or near completion) in a highly quantitative field.
  • Strong programming skills and documented experience in numerical model development.
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular or renal haemodynamics and global sensitivity analysis would be a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Expand our in-house openBF circulation solver.
  • Integrate renal function and autoregulation mechanics.
  • Implement state-of-the-art disease progression coupling.
  • Run pioneering in silico clinical trials using large virtual populations.
  • Collaborate with INSIGNEO and global partners to advance biomarkers.
