University of Strathclyde seeks a part-time engineer to design, fabricate and measure micrometre-scale LED arrays. The role involves developing cleanroom processes for laser photolithography, plasma etching and metal evaporation, plus optical and electrical device characterisation. You will report results to external partners using graphical tools and presentation software.
The position is a fixed-term 7-month appointment in Glasgow, with interviews scheduled in early September.

This appointment is being raised in order to deliver on theKnowledge Exchange project for an external company based inthe UK. A part-time position for 7-month is required to deliver onthe project objectives of designing, fabricating and measuringmicrometre scale light emitting diodes arrays. The post requiresa precise set of skills in micro-fabrication in cleanroomenvironment covering the process development of laserphotolithography, plasma etching and metal deposition byevaporation with additional expertise in optical and electricaldevice characterisation. Reporting the process andcharacterisation results to the external partners will also benecessary using the dedicated graphical tools and presentationsoftware.
Initial interviews have been scheduled for early September.
