Research and Impact Management Support Officer

Overview of the Role

Research, Impact and Management Support Officer, School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies

Full-time, ongoing

This role will be based on the University of Leeds campus (central Leeds) with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Do you have demonstrable understanding of academic research activity in the Arts and Humanities? Do you have experience in supporting arts and humanities focused research projects and successfully navigated HE research funding environments? Do you have the ability to promote a successful research culture and help to enhance the reputation of the School with regards its research activity? Do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people?

As a Research, Impact and Management Support Officer you will be part of the School’s Management and Administration Support Service (MASS) and provide efficient and effective support to researchers and colleagues within the School. You will work with key stakeholders to implement the School’s research and impact strategies and be responsible for managing the day-to-day research operations including the administration of research grants and the management of the School research budget.

You will play a key role in the gathering and preparation of data and evidence for the School’s submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF). You will assist the Unit of Assessment Lead in preparing the submission of publications and practice-based portfolios, and support academic staff in developing their profiles. You will also work closely with the Director for Impact to generate, record and organise evidence of impact arising from research, as well as reviewing impact excellence to inform strategic decisions about impact activity. You will support staff in developing their impact activities through information-sharing, and assistance in the planning and delivery of impact-related activities.
