Job description

Are you enthusiastic, well-organised, and versatile, with strong research support ability? Do you have an interest in working with a collaborative research team and want to use your food science laboratory skills and experience to support research and assist our academic staff in delivering an excellent research experience?

We are seeking a Research Support Officer to join our team working on a British Council-Israel ISPF Grant. The project aims to characterize the rheological and tribological performance of microgels and test various variables.

As a Research Support Officer supporting this project, you will:

  1. Characterize a range of microgels created using alternative proteins.
  2. Maintain communications relevant to the research activities.
  3. Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and risk assessments for the project.
  4. Keep accurate records of all activities and prepare periodic reports for the project team under the supervision of researchers.

You should have a BSc degree in Sciences with laboratory experience in oral tribological measurements and quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring (QCM-D), including coating sensors with polymers such as Ecoflex and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). You should also have experience working in a research environment, with good organizational and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse scientific or technical backgrounds.
