Position: R&D Manager

Leading a team of scientists and engineers within a Medical Device company, you will work as part of a multifunctional team to develop, design, and validate medical devices.

What the role involves:

  1. Managing, motivating, and developing the R&D team.
  2. Developing and managing the R&D budget.
  3. Developing new mechanical device adhesives and sealants from concept to commercialisation, aligned with business strategy, quality systems, and development processes.
  4. Planning and executing projects to deliver emerging technology, including validation activities and stakeholder communication.
  5. Setting clear objectives for the R&D team to meet company needs.
  6. Creating and refining product designs through DFM analysis, evaluating manufacturing capability, and addressing issues related to cost, quality, and volume targets.
  7. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, standards, and company policies.
  8. Maintaining safety practices and GMP/GLP standards within R&D activities.
  9. Maintaining design history files and risk management files for all devices developed.
  10. Generating and reviewing R&D documentation such as protocols and reports.
  11. Providing monthly project, resource, and budget reports.
  12. Keeping stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
  13. Supporting other departments with technical expertise, stability, CAPA, and audits.
  14. Analyzing and mitigating project risks, establishing contingency plans.
  15. Representing R&D interests at a senior level and engaging in strategic activities.
