Role Overview:

R&D Manager leading a team of Scientists and Engineers in a Medical Device company, working within a multifunctional team to develop, design, and validate medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage, motivate, and develop the R&D team.
2. Develop and manage the R&D budget.
3. Develop new mechanical device adhesives and sealants from concept to commercial devices aligned with business strategy, Quality System, and Development Process.
4. Plan and execute projects, ensuring delivery of technology from specification to market, including validation activities and stakeholder communication.
5. Set clear objectives for the R&D team to meet company needs.
6. Create, review, and refine product designs, evaluating manufacturing capability and cost, quality, and volume targets.
7. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, standards, and company policies.
8. Ensure safety practices and GMP/GLP standards are followed.
9. Maintain design history files and risk management files for all devices developed.
10. Generate and review R&D documentation such as protocols and reports.
11. Provide regular project, resource, and budget updates through reports.
12. Keep stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
13. Support other departments with R&D expertise and participate in audits and quality activities.
14. Analyze, mitigate, and monitor project risks, establishing contingency plans.
15. Represent R&D interests at a senior level and participate in strategic activities.
