Job summary

Igne Group Limited is seeking an experienced Reporting Engineer in Hamilton to join our Engineering team. The role focuses on producing high-quality geotechnical reports, interpreting site investigation data, and maintaining accuracy to industry standards.

You will review logs, lab results and monitoring records, develop logs and ground models, and support tenders and client requirements while mentoring junior colleagues and promoting a culture of quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Degree in geotechnical/geological/engineering discipline.
  • Experience in the Ground Investigation industry with high-quality reports.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical investigation techniques and soil mechanics.
  • Knowledge of ICC/GI contracts, NEC3/NEC4 and CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Excellent report writing, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.
  • Review and interpret site investigation data, including logs, lab results and monitoring records.
  • Manage project data; develop factual logs and preliminary ground models.
  • Ensure QA processes; maintain accuracy of deliverables.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing programmes and support borehole design.
  • Provide technical support for tenders including scope, cost estimates and submissions.
  • Collaborate with Project Delivery Teams to ensure timely client reports.
  • Keep up to date with industry standards and guidance.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety, professionalism and values.

Job description

Igne are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Reporting Engineer to join our Engineering team in Hamilton. This is an excellent opportunity for a geotechnical professional who enjoys technical reporting, data interpretation, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

As a Reporting Engineer, you will play a key role in reviewing and interpreting site investigation data, producing high-quality factual and interpretative reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Responsibilities:

What We're Looking For:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant geotechnical, geological, or engineering discipline
  • Proven experience within the Ground Investigation industry, producing high-quality factual reports and GIRs
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical investigation techniques, soil mechanics, geology, and relevant industry standards
  • Knowledge of ICC Ground Investigation contracts, NEC3/NEC4, and CDM 2015 Regulations
  • Excellent technical report-writing, communication, and organisational skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain strong client relationships
  • Committed to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement
  • Chartered status, or working towards Chartership, is desirable
