Job summary

Igne Group Limited in Daventry is seeking a motivated Graduate to join our Specialist Drilling team as a Graduate Logging Engineer. This is a field‑based role supporting borehole geophysics data on UK projects, with hands‑on experience in wireline logging, data acquisition and site investigations.

You will gain technical knowledge while working outdoors, travelling to sites and developing practical skills in geotechnical and drilling industries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Masters’ degree in a related subject (Geotechnical Engineering, Geology and Environmental Science or related discipline).
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with good time management and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Operate wireline logging equipment safely from our logging vehicle.
  • Monitor real-time data acquisition for accuracy and quality.
  • Carry out equipment checks, calibrations and basic troubleshooting on site.
  • Maintain accurate field logs, job reports and data records.
  • Collaborate with geotechnical engineers, drillers and site supervisors to meet project objectives.
  • Follow HSE procedures and IGNE policies.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, cleaning, mobilisation and demobilisation.
  • Travel to remote sites and work flexible/extended hours as required.
  • Support senior management with additional tasks.

Igne is seeking a motivated Graduate to join our Specialist Drilling team based in Daventry. This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career as a Graduate Logging Engineer in a specialist technical role, supporting the delivery of borehole geophysics data on a wide range of projects across the UK. Working alongside an experienced team, you will gain hands‑on experience in wireline logging operations, geophysical data acquisition and site investigations. Developing the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to build a successful career within the geotechnical and drilling industry. This is a primarily field‑based role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors and travelling. Full training will be given. Key Responsibilities

Person Specification

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • High attention to detail in a live data environment
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and site conditions
  • Willingness to travel and work irregular or extended hours
  • Full UK Driving License
