Job summary

Amplius is hiring a Repairs Surveyor to join our Property Operations team. The role is hybrid with weekly office presence in Milton Keynes, Rushden, Peterborough or Boston and requires daily travel to properties.

You will survey homes, identify defects, propose solutions, and monitor repairs against KPIs to ensure high customer satisfaction and safety. This permanent, full-time position offers a 36.25-hour week (Mon-Fri 9:00–17:15) and a competitive package including a car allowance.

Qualifications

• A building-related qualification or relevant experience, plus a Level 3 QCF housing management qualification or willingness to work toward one.
• Good working knowledge of buildings, defects, housing repairs and maintenance.
• Experience identifying property defects and carrying out surveys or inspections with recommended solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer-focused service.

Responsibilities

• Survey customers' homes, identify property defects and recommend appropriate solutions through to completion.
• Review and respond to customer complaints, ensuring commitments are followed through and issues resolved promptly.
• Produce clear written reports following inspections to support decisions and repair outcomes.
• Monitor repair performance against KPIs, including first-time fix rates, customer satisfaction and job completion times.
• Inspect completed works to check quality and ensure they meet health and safety requirements, building standards and internal policies.
• Manage a portfolio of homes, working with customers, the Customer Service Team, Property Services Management and other colleagues, including supporting the out-of-hours emergency service through the call-out rota.

Salary: £44,858.80 (plus car allowance of £2,750.28) per year

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Your week : 36.25 hours - Monday to Friday 9am to 5.15pm

What you'll need to thrive in this role

• A building-related qualification or relevant experience, alongside a Level 3 QCF recognised housing management qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.
• Good working knowledge of buildings, associated defects, housing repairs and maintenance.
• Experience of identifying property defects and carrying out surveys or inspections, with the ability to recommend appropriate solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and provide a customer-focused service.
• A commitment to service excellence and delivering a high-quality customer experience.
