Job summary

Wates is seeking an experienced Repairs Manager to lead the operational delivery of responsive maintenance services in the Birmingham area. You will ensure works are performed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards, while inspiring a large team of Supervisors, Administrators, Planners and Operatives.

You will drive customer satisfaction, oversee large multi-trade repairs, and work closely with commercial teams to optimise contract performance.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in repairs or social housing environments.
• Strong knowledge of reactive maintenance operations.
• Experience managing large maintenance contracts and budgets.

As our Repairs Manager, you'll lead the operational delivery of responsive maintenance services, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Lead and inspire a team of Supervisors, Administrators, Planners and Operatives

Drive excellent customer satisfaction and continuously improve service delivery

Oversee the scheduling and delivery of large multi-trade repairs, ensuring the right resources are allocated

Manage operational performance, productivity and quality across the contract

Ensure policies and procedures are consistently followed across the workforce

Work closely with Commercial teams to identify and resolve invoicing issues and maximise contract performance

Champion Health & Safety compliance and create a positive safety culture

Build strong relationships with clients, customers and internal stakeholders

Monitor performance against KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience in a Repairs Manager role or a similar management position within responsive maintenance, repairs or social housing
• Strong knowledge of reactive maintenance operations
• Proven track record of managing large maintenance contracts
• Experience leading large operational teams and supply chain partners
• Excellent understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance
• Strong commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and performance
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
• Highly organised, customer-focused and results-driven
• Full UK Driving Licence
