Job summary

Peabody, based in Houghton Regis, seeks an experienced Repairs Electrician to join the property services team. You will perform electrical repairs, EICR testing, and installations, reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, ensuring safety and compliance across occupied homes.

You’ll carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and documentation, with focus on first-time fixes and responsive customer service. A full UK driving licence and DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in property maintenance or similar environment.
• Proven fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience carrying out EICRs, electrical testing and repairs in occupied properties.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical repairs and maintenance to a high standard, achieving first-time fixes wherever possible.
• Complete Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and identify remedial works required.
• Undertake fault finding, testing and inspection activities.
• Install and replace consumer units, heat alarms and smoke alarms.
• Complete certification and test documentation accurately and compliantly.
• Carry out core drilling for fan installations where required.
• Manage workload effectively and work to agreed schedules and performance targets.
• Ensure materials, equipment and resources are available to minimise follow-on works and maximise productivity.
• Deliver excellent customer service and take ownership of issues through to resolution.

Knowledge of working with non-licensed asbestos
