Job summary

Line Up Aviation seeks a Repairs Engineer for a contract role in Filton. 60% onsite with 35 hours per week, handling structural repair tasks on in-service aircraft and leading repair activities within a small team.

The role requires proficiency in aircraft structures (Airbus preferred), experience in metallic and composite repairs, NDT familiarity, and good knowledge of Airbus drawings. BPSS clearance is required before starting.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in aircraft structures, preferably Airbus structures.
• Expertise in structural repair principles for metallic and composite.
• Knowledge of metallic and composite materials.
• Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods.
• Knowledge of Airbus drawings and specifications is a plus.
• A400M or A350 experience is beneficial.
• RTE1/2/3 delegation is desirable.
• Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate daily customer requests regarding structural damage on in-service aircraft.
• Describe actions needed to repair aircraft via Structural Repair Instructions.
• Provide structural repair support and develop innovative repair solutions.
• Investigate historical damage to identify similar cases for consistent guidance.
• Liaise with customers and stakeholders to ensure clear communication.
• Develop generic repair procedures to streamline processes and reduce downtime.
• Provide timely structural repair and engineering services aligned with fleet operations.
• Engage with Design Organisation and prepare approval documents for regulatory compliance.

Salary: GBP52 - GBP52 per hour

Our client has an opportunity for a Repairs Engineer to join them on a contract basis until December 2026. You will be responsible for Authoring, Leading and executing repair tasks within a small team.

Role

Location: Filton, 60% onsite

Hours: 35 per week

Hourly Rate: Up to £52 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35

Clearance: BPSS required before starting

What you’ll be doing:

• Evaluate daily customer requests regarding structural damage on in-service aircraft.


• Describe all the actions needed to repair aircraft via Structural Repair Instructions.


• Providing Structural Repair Support: Leveraging experience and technical expertise to address complex structural repair matters. This includes devising innovative solutions for both minor and major repairs requested by customers ensuring high standards of safety and reliability.


• Utilizing a deep understanding of historical damage and repair scenarios to investigate and identify the existence of similar previous cases. This ensures the provision of consistent, well-informed support and enhances the efficiency of problem resolution processes.


• Customer and Stakeholder Liaison: Employing communication skills to effectively liaise with internal and external customers & stakeholders.


• Development of Generic Repair Procedures: Assist in creating and refining generic repair procedures based on an in-depth knowledge of recurring structural issues. These procedures are designed to streamline repair processes, reduce downtime, and enhance the overall operational efficiency of the Airbus fleet.


• Provide customers with highly efficient and timely structural repair and engineering services, informed by a thorough understanding of fleet operations and structural integrity requirements.


• Design Organization Engagement: Actively participating in Design Organization activities by preparing and releasing critical approval documents ensuring that all structural repairs meet stringent regulatory and safety standards.

Requirements
