Job summary

MPJ Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Repair Manager in Nottingham to take ownership of repair operations within an established insurance business. You will oversee the contractor network, ensure governance and compliance, and drive efficient, compliant repairs while resolving escalated issues.

You'll manage complex repair matters, monitor performance, and collaborate with surveyors, claims teams and management to meet technical and customer standards.

Qualifications

• Background in property repairs, insurance claims, contractor management or similar operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of repair processes and contractor management.
• Experience managing operational workflows and compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the operational delivery of repairs across the contractor network
• Monitoring contractor performance, service levels, delays, variations and customer outcomes
• Managing and supporting the resolution of complex, high-risk and escalated repair matters
• Ensuring repairs are delivered in line with approved scopes, authorised costs and operational standards
• Reviewing variation requests and final account validation
• Building relationships with contractors and key stakeholders
• Supporting contractor performance management and identifying service improvements
• Identifying contractor capacity and coverage gaps
• Managing contractor onboarding and due diligence, including insurance and compliance checks
• Overseeing contractor compliance documentation and governance requirements
• Reviewing RAMS, PCI docs, Construction Phase Plans, insurance docs and Health & Safety files
• Ensuring works meet CDM requirements

Repair Manager

Nottingham | Office-Based | Circa £40,000

Are you an experienced Property Repairs, Claims or Contractor Management professional looking for a role where you can take real ownership of repair operations?

We're working with an established insurance business that is looking for a Repair Manager to join their Nottingham team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys managing complex repair matters, working closely with contractors and stakeholders, and making sure repairs are delivered efficiently, compliantly and to a high standard.

This is a hands‑on operational role where you'll play a key part in overseeing the contractor network, managing governance and compliance, resolving escalated issues and helping to continuously improve the repair journey.

The Role

• As Repair Manager, you'll act as a key link between contractors, surveyors, claims teams and management, ensuring repairs are progressing as they should and that the required technical, compliance and customer standards are consistently met.
• You'll have responsibility for overseeing more complex and higher-risk repair matters, while also taking ownership of contractor governance, audits, compliance and operational improvements.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the operational delivery of repairs across the contractor network
• Monitoring contractor performance, service levels, delays, variations and customer outcomes
• Managing and supporting the resolution of complex, high-risk and escalated repair matters
• Ensuring repairs are delivered in line with approved scopes, authorised costs and operational standards

• Building strong working relationships with contractors and key operational stakeholders
• Supporting contractor performance management and identifying opportunities to improve service
• Identifying contractor capacity and coverage gaps
• Managing contractor onboarding and due diligence, including insurance, accreditation and compliance checks
• Overseeing contractor compliance documentation and governance requirements
• Reviewing documentation such as RAMS, PCI documentation, Construction Phase Plans, insurance documentation and Health & Safety files
• Ensuring works completed under the BRN meet relevant CDM requirements
• Leading contractor audits and quality assurance reviews
• Identifying operational and compliance risks and implementing corrective actions
• Supporting process improvement initiatives across repairs and contractor governance
• Providing operational and technical guidance to Repair Coordinators where required
• Assisting with reporting, audit preparation and wider governance reviews

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with candidates who have a background in property repairs, insurance claims, contractor management, facilities management or a similar operational environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Strong knowledge of repair processes and contractor management
• Experience managing operational workflows and compliance processes
• Experience reviewing contractor documentation and governance requirements
• A good understanding of the insurance claims lifecycle
• Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of governance
• The confidence to make decisions, manage risks and take ownership of issues
• A commercially aware and process-driven approach
• The ability to remain calm and decisive when dealing with complex or escalated matters

Desirable Experience

It would be advantageous if you have:

• Previous experience within insurance claims or loss adjusting
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and contractor compliance
• Experience carrying out contractor audits or quality assurance reviews
• Knowledge of reinstatement, restoration or building repair works
• Experience using Apex or similar claims management systems
