Job summary

Arnold Clark at Heathrow is seeking a Driver/Valeter to ensure our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition and to support a busy rental operation. You will be part of a dynamic team, performing cleaning, polishing and vehicle movement tasks with due regard to safety and quality.

This full-time role is 45 hours per week over 5 days with alternating weekends. A full UK driving licence is essential and training is provided to the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Use high-powered pressure washer and vacuum for cleaning.
• Polish/buff bodywork to enhance appearance.
• Drive to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Follow health and safety procedures when handling chemicals.
• Maintain and secure equipment, report defects, follow PPE guidance.
• Work to set timeframes and targets and complete a daily work record.

Hours
Full time: 45 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 and alternative weekends.
About The Role
As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.
This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.
Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Cleaning vehicles with a high-powered pressure washer and vacuum.
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork.
• Driving to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals.
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations.
• Working to set timeframes and targets.
• Completing a daily record of work.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to multi-task
• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
