Job summary

Arnold Clark is seeking a Driver/Valeter to ensure all vehicles are presented to the highest standard. This part-time role includes weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) and offers an active, physical workplace where teamwork and pride in workmanship are essential.

Day-to-day you’ll clean vehicles with high standards, operate a pressure washer and vacuum, buff/polish bodywork, and arrange vehicle transfers to customers and branches.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Excellent attention to detail required.
• Must be a good team player and able to multitask.
• Willingness to participate in training programmes.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Use pressure washer and vacuum.
• Polish/buff vehicle surfaces.
• Drive to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Follow health and safety procedures when handling chemicals.
• Maintain equipment and report defects.
• Work to set timeframes and targets.
• Complete daily records of work.

Hours

Part Time: Saturday 7.30am-4.30pm, Sunday 7.30am -4.30pm.

About The Role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Cleaning vehicles with a high-powered pressure washer and vacuum.
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork.
• Driving to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals.
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure,, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations.
• Working to set timeframes and targets.
• Completing a daily record of work.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to multi-task
• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
