Job summary

Arnold Clark Group is seeking a Driver/Valeter to ensure vehicles are presented in top condition. The role is suitable for someone who enjoys active, physical work, with strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Daily duties include cleaning vehicles to high standards, operating a pressure washer, vacuuming, and using a polish/buffing machine. You will also drive vehicles to collect and deliver to customers and branches, while adhering to health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team.
• The ability to multi-task.
• Willingness to participate in training programmes.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Clean vehicles with a pressure washer and vacuum.
• Use polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork.
• Drive to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Follow health and safety procedures when working with chemicals.
• Maintain and check equipment and PPE; report defects.

Hours

Full time: 45 hours per week, 5 days out of 7and alternativeweekends.

About the role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Cleaning vehicles with a high-powered pressure washer and vacuum.
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork.
• Driving to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals.
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure,, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations.
• Working to set timeframes and targets.
• Completing a daily record of work.

Essential requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High level of attention to detail

• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
