Job summary

Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter in Glasgow is responsible for presenting vehicles to the highest standards at our South Street Rental site.

The role suits someone who enjoys a physical, hands-on environment, with meticulous attention to detail and teamwork. Training through the Valet Academy is provided, with opportunities to grow within the branch.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Exterior cleaning with a high-powered pressure washer.
• Vacuuming and shampooing vehicle interiors.
• Polishing and buffing to enhance bodywork.
• Follow health and safety procedures when using chemicals.
• Maintain and report defects on equipment and PPE as required.
• Work to set timeframes and complete daily records.
• Support the branch with other duties as needed.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Driver/Valeter to join the Rental department in our South Street Car & Van Rental in Glasgow.

Hours

Full time: 42.5 hours per week, five days out of seven and alternate weekends

About The Role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Using a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo vehicle interiors
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets
• Completing a daily record of work
• Other duties to support the branch as required

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to multi-task
• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
