Markel International in Leeds is looking for an Underwriter to join the Renewal Connect team. You’ll manage a high-volume renewals portfolio, develop technical underwriting skills, and work with brokers to retain and secure business in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite commercial insurance risks within delegated authority.
• Manage renewals and mid-term adjustments across a varied portfolio.
• Work closely with brokers to retain and secure business.
• Apply underwriting judgement to assess risk and make effective decisions.
• Develop strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders.
• Work across multiple systems including Acturis and broker trading platforms.
• Prioritise and manage workloads in a renewals environment.
• Support wider team initiatives and projects.
