Markel is building an underwriting support team in its London Fenchurch Street office. This role focuses on accurate data entry, quality checks and timely processing to support underwriting teams across Marine, Energy and Specialty lines.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
• Experience in the insurance industry is preferred; energy exposure is a plus but not required.
• Consistent high-quality customer service focus.
• Able to work in a busy team with willingness to cover colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry of insurance policy information into in-house systems to defined standards of accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop broad class knowledge to support the centralised USS model and specialise in a class of business as a main contact for underwriting.
• Manage daily workflow and queries, liaising with line manager and underwriting team to meet productivity targets.
• Monitor data accuracy using QC reporting and dashboards.
• Build effective working relationships with underwriting teams and attend meetings when required.
• Engage in training and support progress with process optimisation, automation and AI initiatives.
