Job summary

Markel International, based in Leeds, is recruiting a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join the UK Finance team on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on delivering high-quality financial insight, supporting planning and forecasting, and partnering with senior stakeholders across underwriting, claims, and operations.

You will influence decision making, drive better use of data and dashboarding, and help shape the finance functions in a growing, regulated insurance environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Finance Business Partnering experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Strong accounting and finance knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance audiences.
• A proactive, self-sufficient approach with the confidence to operate independently.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the business, understanding performance and opportunities.
• Deliver insightful management information and commercial analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and planning activities.
• Analyse financial performance, trends, risks and opportunities.
• Provide meaningful commentary and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Develop and enhance management reporting and business dashboards.
• Improve the quality and accessibility of financial information.
• Support the evolution of finance processes, reporting and data capabilities.
• Help drive data-led decision making across the business.
