Job summary

InstaGroup, a leading installer of energy efficiency and renewable solutions in the UK, is seeking an experienced Estimator to secure new business by producing accurate, competitive cost estimates for domestic retrofit and renewable projects.

You will work with Tier 1 contractors, bid teams and internal operations to analyse tender documents, develop pricing submissions and build strong commercial relationships that maximise our opportunity pipeline.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Estimating, QS or Commercial in construction, housing, renewables or retrofit.
• Experience producing estimates for construction, refurbishment or energy efficiency projects.
• Strong commercial awareness with analytical and numerical skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and tender documentation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management with multiple tenders.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for domestic retrofit and renewable energy projects.
• Review tender documentation, technical specs, drawings and contract requirements.
• Develop pricing submissions for Solar PV, Battery Storage, Air Source Heat Pumps, insulation and related measures.
• Produce detailed cost breakdowns including labour, materials, plant and subcontractor pricing.
• Maintain estimating templates, pricing libraries and databases.
• Identify commercial risks, assumptions and opportunities in tender submissions.
• Support value engineering to improve competitiveness without compromising quality or programme.
• Prepare tender clarifications, exclusions and pricing assumptions.
• Support handover of successful projects to Operations.
