Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is recruiting Healthcare Support Workers for the Renal Outpatient Service at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The roles involve clinical and administrative duties in a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on safe, patient-centred care for kidney disease patients.

The positions are permanent, 18 hours per week across three days (Mon–Fri). The post requires flexibility, good communication, and commitment to infection prevention alongside opportunities

Qualifications

• Prioritise workload and work independently when required.
• Caring and compassionate approach with healthcare or caring environment experience preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good written and verbal communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to carry out tasks in a busy clinical environment.
• Understand infection prevention and control principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support in the Renal Outpatient and Peritoneal Dialysis Services.
• Undertake venepuncture, cannulation, ECG recording.
• Assist with preparation and setup of peritoneal dialysis equipment.
• Maintain accurate digital patient records and support high-quality patient care.
• Demonstrate commitment to infection prevention and maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Handle moving and handling of patients and equipment in a demanding environment.
