Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant for the Bracknell Dialysis Unit. The role is part-time (22.5/30 hours per week) with shifts Monday to Saturday. The post includes a 5% fringe payment and requires haemodialysis skills training after initial renal competencies.

Based at Bracknell Healthspace, RG12 9RT. Responsibilities include HD equipment prep, patient weighing, and safe patient handling.

Qualifications

• Able to evidence a general level of education
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English using both verbal and written means of communication
• QCF level 3 in Health or Health and Social Care
• T Level in Health

Responsibilities

• Preparation of equipment for haemodialysis.
• Pre & post HD weighing of patients including calculation of wheelchair weight.
• Assisting patients with manual handling- transfer using hoist/ Banana board or SARA Steady.
• Using of therapy monitor.
• Lining & priming of HD machines.
• Disconnecting of patients from HD (patients with fistula as vascular access)
• Cleaning/ Disinfecting of HD machines.
• Appropriate segregation & disposal of waste.
• HD materials stocking levels and ordering.
• To use online Transport booking system (SCAS).
• Efficient in using renal IT system- CV5.
