Job summary

Integrated Care 24 (IC24) in Norwich is seeking an experienced Clinical Advisor to assess patients by phone, provide evidence-based guidance and referrals. You’ll use NHS Pathways and clinical judgement to optimise urgent care delivery and ensure safe, timely decisions.

The role requires two years post‑registration experience as a Nurse or Paramedic, strong communication, and the ability to work across a 24/7 rota, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Registered Adult Nurse or Paramedic with 2+ years post-registration experience.
• Excellent assessment, communication and clinical decision-making skills.
• Calm under pressure when managing complex or emotionally challenging situations.
• Experience or willingness to work remotely using NHS Pathways.
• Willing to work across a 24/7 rota including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients via NHS Pathways using clinical judgement.
• Provide evidence-based self-care advice and suitable referrals.
• Support patients through difficult conversations with empathy.
• Give clinical guidance to Health Advisors during complex calls.
• Assess risk and make safe clinical decisions.
• Collaborate with the urgent care system to ensure patient pathways.
