HPRtalent is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end UK payroll across a national, multi-site operation. The role is home-based with UK-wide travel, overseeing data collection, validation, payments and post-payroll reconciliation using Moorepay as the core platform.

You will coordinate with HR and Finance, ensure accurate tax, NI and statutory deductions, and maintain rigorous audit trails while meeting immovable deadlines with discretion and accuracy.

Qualificações

• Significant hands-on UK payroll experience, ideally including ownership of payroll in a multi-site, operational or service-led organisation.
• Strong practical experience of Moorepay is essential
• Thorough knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, RTI, statutory payments, pensions/auto-enrolment and wider UK payroll legislation.

Responsabilidades

• Own the complete payroll cycle from data collection and input through validation, approval, payment and post-payroll reconciliation.
• Establish and manage a clear payroll calendar, cut-off timetable and control framework, ensuring all stakeholders understand deadlines and responsibilities.
• Process starters, leavers, contractual changes, salary changes, overtime, bonuses, allowances, deductions, absence-related pay and other variable payroll inputs.
• Ensure tax codes, National Insurance, student loans, attachment orders, statutory payments and other deductions are applied correctly.
• Review payroll outputs before approval, investigate anomalies, unusual movements, duplicate or missing payments and material variances.
• Coordinate final payroll sign-off with authorised stakeholders and ensure payment files and supporting documentation are completed accurately.
• Manage corrections, advances and off-cycle payments under controlled processes.
• Ensure year-end activity is delivered accurately, including P60s and other outputs.
• Act as the internal subject-matter expert and primary owner for Moorepay.
• Use Moorepay reporting, validation and audit functionality to identify exceptions before payroll is finalised.
• Work with Moorepay support to resolve system issues, implement updates and improve configuration.
• Maintain expert knowledge of UK payroll legislation and ensure processes remain compliant.
• Ensure HMRC submissions are accurate and timely, including FPS and EPS, resolving exceptions promptly.
• Manage PAYE, National Insurance and other statutory payroll obligations with deadlines.
• Ensure SSP, SMP, SPP and other family-related pay are calculated and administered correctly.
• Oversee auto-enrolment payroll activity and pension deductions with providers.
• Support P11D/Class 1A and benefits-related payroll processes where applicable.
• Maintain payroll records, audit trails, approvals and evidence for audits.
