Job summary

Welsh Ambulance NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Triage and Assessment Nurse to provide telephone triage and remote clinical decision-making for urgent and emergency care. You will work in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment and manage cases with autonomy while aligning with Trust policies and guidelines.

The role involves rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, in a dynamic Welsh healthcare setting. A current NMC/HCPC registration and ongoing professional development are essential.

Qualifications

• NMC Registered Nurse (adult or child) or HCPC Registered Paramedic with post-registration experience.
• Regular update training and ongoing professional development is expected.
• Flexible approach; rotating shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform telephone triage assessments with efficient, patient-centred care.
• Advise on the most appropriate interventions per guidelines.
• Work autonomously while supported by senior clinicians and a multidisciplinary team.
• Engage in remote clinical decision-making and clinical governance.
