Job summary

Altus Group is building modern, AWS-native platforms and is seeking a hands-on Tech Lead who combines strong engineering expertise with technical leadership. This role serves as a senior technical voice on the team, responsible for writing and reviewing production code, driving architectural decisions, and owning mission-critical services end-to-end.

The Tech Lead will raise the technical bar through mentorship, strong engineering practices, and clear decision-making while partnering closely

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Tech Lead or Senior Engineer owning complex production systems.
• Strong hands-on AWS and cloud-native architecture expertise.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and data modeling.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD.
• Strong testing, observability, and security practices.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration in Agile settings.

Responsibilities

• Technical Ownership & Architecture: own design for complex initiatives; end-to-end ownership of mission-critical services; reduce technical debt; design cost-efficient cloud-native solutions.
• Engineering Excellence: set standards for code quality, testing, observability, security, and documentation; shift-left practices; DevSecOps; code reviews.
• Delivery & Collaboration: drive multi-phase initiatives; shape technical roadmap with managers and architects; translate requirements; pre-empt blockers.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: build AWS-based systems; IaC; CI/CD pipelines; incident response and reliability improvements.
• Mentorship & Team Enablement: provide mentorship and architectural guidance; assist hiring/onboarding; embrace AI-assisted development.
