Job summary

Spotify is seeking a Staff Data Engineer for the Subscriptions User Understanding team. You will define the long-term direction of our data platform and build scalable systems that power analytics, experimentation, and ML for hundreds of millions of subscribers.

Collaborate with product, engineering, data science, analytics, and platform teams to deliver durable data solutions, lead architectural decisions, and mentor engineers to improve data quality, governance, and reliability across squads.

Qualifications

Experience designing and operating large-scale cloud-native data platforms.
Strong data modeling, governance, and data quality practices.
Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction.

Responsibilities

Define long-term data engineering strategy for the domain.
Design scalable batch and streaming data platforms for analytics and ML.
Collaborate with product, engineering, data science, analytics and platform teams.
Lead architectural decisions and establish best practices for data quality and observability.
Design data models and platform architecture for scalable growth to one billion users.
Simplify systems and reduce technical debt while improving developer experience.
